Trauma therapy for men who are tired of the past showing up in the present.
When something that happened is still affecting you?
You may know exactly where it comes from. A traumatic event. Something you witnessed at work. An accident. A loss. Violence. Something from childhood.
Or you may just notice what it has left behind: anxiety, anger, intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, feeling constantly on guard, or reactions that seem bigger than the situation in front of you.
Sometimes understanding what happened isn't enough to change the way your mind and body continue responding to it.
What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a trauma-focused therapy that uses guided imagery and eye movements to help people process distressing memories and experiences.
Unlike some forms of trauma therapy, ART does not require you to describe every detail of what happened. You'll remain aware of the memory, but we'll work with the images, sensations, emotions, and meanings associated with it.
The goal isn't to erase what happened. It's to help what happened have less control over what happens now.
Who I use ART with.
I work exclusively with men, including first responders and men who have experienced traumatic or overwhelming events.
ART may be useful when you're dealing with intrusive memories, anxiety related to something that happened, avoidance, hypervigilance, nightmares, anger, grief, or experiences from years ago that still seem to have a grip on you.
We'll determine together whether ART makes sense for what you're dealing with. It isn't the right approach for every person or every problem.
What ART with me looks like
ART is one of several approaches I use in my work with men. Sometimes it becomes a focused part of regular weekly therapy. I also offer longer sessions and therapy intensives when more concentrated work makes sense.
I'm trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and we'll talk beforehand about what the process involves, what you're hoping to work on, and whether it's an appropriate fit.
You don't have to walk into my office ready to tell me every detail of the worst thing that's ever happened to you.
How Can ART Help You?
Men who use ART report significant improvements in:
Reducing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression
Alleviating stress and irritability
Improving sleep quality
Enhancing relationships and communication
Regaining a sense of control and confidence
Whether you're a first responder, a father, or someone striving to break free from past patterns, ART is a powerful tool in your healing journey.
What to Expect:
Our work together will begin with a comprehensive intake session to understand your unique experiences and goals. ART sessions are typically 60-75 minutes and can lead to noticeable improvements in just 1-5 sessions.
Throughout the process, you'll remain in control, choosing how much or how little you wish to share. My role is to guide you through the technique, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
How it’ll Work
We’ll begin with a thorough intake session where I get to know you, what you’re carrying, and what you’re hoping to change. This is your space to ask questions, talk through concerns, and set clear goals.
Together, we’ll create a plan that not only guides our work but helps us track your progress in a way that feels meaningful and practical.

If you’re looking to make steady progress over time, we can meet weekly or every other week for 50- or 80-minute sessions, depending on what fits best for your pace and goals. ART sessions are typically 80 minutes to allow enough time for deep work and full resolution during each appointment.

If you’re looking for faster results, a therapy intensive might be a better fit. Think of it as a focused dose of therapy in a shorter time frame — ideal for when you want to go deep and see meaningful progress without stretching it out over weeks or months. I offer 1- and 2-day intensives designed to bring real relief and clarity. Click here to learn more.

If you’re already working with another therapist and finding that work helpful — that’s great. Accelerated Resolution Therapy can serve as a focused add-on to help you break through a stuck point or move more quickly through a specific issue. ART can be offered as adjunct therapy, either through a few targeted sessions or as part of a one- or two-day intensive, while you continue your ongoing work.
