Intensive Therapy

When you’re done circling the same problem and need to actually resolve it.

Most of the men I work with are capable, responsible, and used to handling things on their own.

They think it through. They push through. They keep things functioning—even when something isn’t right.

That works for a while.

But eventually, you hit a point where you’re dealing with the same issue over and over:

  • The same argument in your relationship

  • The same internal pressure or frustration

  • The same decision you can’t seem to land

You’ve probably already tried to think your way out of it.
You may have even talked about it—in therapy or elsewhere.

And still, nothing actually changes.

That’s where intensives come in.

At a Certain Point, Weekly Therapy Starts to Work Against You.

Weekly sessions can be useful.

But when something is stuck, spacing the work out across weeks often means:

  • You lose momentum between sessions

  • You revisit the same ground without resolution

  • You spend more time managing the problem than actually addressing it

It turns into a slower version of the same loop you’re already in.

Not because therapy doesn’t work—but because the format isn’t built for what you’re trying to do.

Intensives Are Built for When You’re Ready to Resolve Something

An intensive is a focused block of time—typically 3 hours or more—where we stay with the problem long enough to actually work through it.

We’re not catching up.
We’re not easing into it.

We’re identifying what’s keeping this in place and addressing it directly.

For most men, this is the difference between:

understanding the problem and finally doing something about it!

When this makes more sense than weekly therapy

Intensives tend to be a better fit when:

  • You’ve been circling the same issue for a while and nothing is changing

  • You don’t have the time or patience for slow, open-ended work

  • You’re dealing with something acute (relationship strain, burnout, anger, shutdown)

  • You want clarity on a decision you’ve been avoiding

  • You’ve done therapy before and don’t want to start from scratch again

Weekly therapy still has its place.

But for certain problems, it’s simply not the most efficient way to work.

This is a good fit if

✔ You prefer direct, focused work over open-ended processing

✔ You value efficiency and want to make meaningful progress quickly

✔ You’re willing to be engaged in the process, not passive

✔ You’re ready to actually address something—not just talk around it

This is not a good fit if

✘ You’re looking for ongoing, open-ended weekly support

✘ You’re unsure whether you want to work on the issue at all

✘ You’re hoping for something more casual or low-commitment

✘ You’re primarily looking for validation rather than change

What we actually do in an intensive

This isn’t just “more time to talk.”

We use the time to:

  • Identify the pattern that keeps repeating

  • Identify what’s actually driving the pattern so you’re not managing symptoms anymore

  • Work through what’s actually driving it (not just the surface issue)

  • Create a clear direction moving forward

In some cases, this includes targeted trauma work using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

The goal is not just insight.

It’s movement.

Concentrated, high-impact sessions delivering results in days, not months.

By the end of an intensive, most of my clients leave knowing what they’re going to do next—and why they haven’t been doing it.

They have:

  • A clearer understanding of what’s been keeping them stuck

  • A meaningful shift in how they relate to the problem

  • A concrete direction instead of more ambiguity

  • A plan for what comes next (if anything)

Not everything gets solved in a day.

But a lot can change when you actually stay with something long enough to work through it.

Options and INvestment

Investment in Your Future

Most men who consider an intensive aren’t starting from zero.

They’ve already spent time trying to think through the issue on their own. Often, they’ve spent months—sometimes longer—talking about it in shorter sessions. And at a certain point, the problem isn’t a lack of effort. It’s that the format hasn’t allowed it to actually resolve.

An intensive is a different approach.

Instead of spreading the work out across weeks or months, we stay with it long enough to get to what’s actually driving it—and move it forward.

What You’re Investing In

3 Hour Intensive

  • Pre-Session Planning (15-20 Minutes)

  • 1 × 3 hour intensive session

Starting at $1200

This isn’t just more time.

It’s the ability to:

  • Stay with a problem long enough to fully work through it

  • Stop revisiting the same issue week after week

  • Get clear on what’s actually happening—and what to do about it

  • Leave with direction instead of continuing to carry it

For many clients, the value isn’t just in the session itself. It’s in not spending the next several months in the same place.

Half-Day Intensive

  • Pre-Session Planning (15-20 Minutes)

  • 1 × 5 hour intensive session

Starting at $2200

What the process looks like

  • Schedule a 15-minute consult
We’ll talk briefly about what’s going on and whether an intensive makes sense.

  • Plan the session
If it’s a fit, we’ll schedule the intensive and clarify what we’re focusing on.

  • Complete the intensive
We meet for the scheduled block and do the work.

  • Decide what comes next (if anything)
Some clients return to weekly work. Others don’t need to.

Next step

If you’re considering an intensive, the next step is a brief consult.

We’ll figure out quickly whether this is the right format for you or if something else would make more sense.
